As an American Heart Association (AHA) instructor, it's essential to stay informed and aligned with the latest guidelines and policies. The AHA Program Administration Manual (PAM) serves as your comprehensive resource for understanding the standards and procedures that govern AHA training programs. Regularly reviewing the PAM ensures that your courses meet AHA standards and that you remain current with any updates. By familiarizing yourself with the PAM, you uphold the integrity of your instruction and contribute to the AHA's mission of being a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.www.heart.org

If you are following AHA guidelines — you’re good! Here's a quick compliance checklist:

  • ✔️ Instructor and student manuals available and in use during class

  • ✔️ All AHA videos played in full — no skipping required segments

  • ✔️ Practice-While-Watching (PWW) method must be followed

  • ✔️ Skills testing using AHA checklists — during or after the course

  • ✔️ Feedback-equipped manikins used for practice and testing

  • ✔️ All equipment cleaned and decontaminated per AHA standards

✅Stay on Track: Know the Process

  • Reminder about Current Certifications:
All instructors must keep provider cards (BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.) current — it's an AHA requirement.

  • eCard Ordering Procedures:
Please order cards on this website under the "Purchase Ecards" tab.

  • Roster and Documentation Reminders:
We must complete accurate rosters, course evaluations, exam answer sheets and skills checklists being turned in on time. Please upload to under the tab "Upload Class Docs" no later than 2 days after your class was taught.

  • Monitoring or Renewal Requirements:
It is your responsibility to monitor the expiration dates of both your provider and instructor certification cards. Please ensure you renew them on time to remain active and in good standing. If your AHA Instructor card expires, you will be required to retake the full Instructor course, and a re-enrollment fee will apply. Avoid unnecessary delays and expenses—stay current and stay certified.
