 PumpLife CPR Plus LLC is proud to introduce PumpLife Connect, our official instructor portal designed exclusively for instructors, training sites, and faculty members aligned with our Training Center.

About PumpLife Connect:
PumpLife Connect serves as a centralized hub where instructors can easily access everything needed to stay informed, compliant, and supported. Whether you are newly aligned or a long-time instructor, this portal is your go-to resource for success with PumpLife CPR Plus LLC.

  • Training Center Updates:
    Stay current with the latest announcements, AHA updates, policy changes, and important deadlines.
     
  • eCard Purchasing:
    Quickly and easily purchase eCards for your students, with clear guidance and streamlined ordering.

    Access full documentation for instructor responsibilities, Training Site expectations, faculty member guidelines, and compliance requirements.

At PumpLife CPR Plus LLC, we believe that well-informed, supported instructors are the foundation of quality training. PumpLife Connect is built to ensure you have the tools, knowledge, and encouragement to succeed.

Interested in Becoming a CPR Instructor

  • Complete a  PumpLife CPR Plus New Instructor Application 
  • Instructor Interview with a Training Center Faculty Member
  • Provide a government  issued photo identification 
  • Instructor candidate has a valid provider card(s) for the discipline(s) that he/she wishes to become an Instructor.
  • Instructor candidate completes the Instructor Essentials course for the discipline(s) that he/she wishes to become an Instructor.
  • Instructor candidate completes the Instructor Candidate Application, which is signed by the Instructor candidate, the TCC, and TF/Course Director. An Instructor candidate application should be completed for each discipline.
  • Instructor candidate is monitored teaching their initial provider course within 6 months of their Instructor course to receive their Instructor card (must teach an initial or renewal provider course in each discipline the candidate wishes to become an Instructor).
  • The TCC will put the Instructor candidate in Atlas to get the candidate’s Instructor number when all steps are successfully completed

Instructor Renewal Policy

 To maintain active instructor status with PumpLife CPR Plus LLC, instructors must fulfill the following requirements every two years, in accordance with AHA standards:​


Teach a minimum of 4 AHA Courses

  • Instructors are required to teach at least four (4) AHA courses in their aligned discipline(s) within the two-year certification period.
     
  • Courses can be a mix of instructor-led and blended learning formats.
     
  • Documentation of each course taught must be submitted to the Training Center.​
     

Complete Instructor Monitoring Forms

  • Instructors must be monitored teaching a full course in each discipline they are renewing.
     
  • Monitoring must be conducted by a Training Center Faculty (TCF) member.
     
  • A completed Instructor Monitor Tool form is required for each monitored session.​
     

Attend and Complete Instructor Update Courses

  • Instructors must attend any mandatory updates or training sessions provided by the AHA or PumpLife CPR Plus LLC.
     
  • These updates ensure instructors are informed about the latest guidelines and teaching practices.​
     

Maintain Current Instructor Provider Card

  • Instructors must hold a current provider card in the discipline(s) they teach.
     
  • For example, a BLS Instructor must have a valid BLS Provider card.​
     

Documentation

  • Instructors are expected to comply with all AHA guidelines and PumpLife CPR Plus LLC policies, including:
     
    • Using current AHA course materials and manuals.
       
    • Following the AHA's Program Administration Manual (PAM) standards.
       
    • Maintaining professionalism and ethical conduct in all instructional activities.​
       

Maintains and Submits Renewal Documents

  • All renewal documentation, including course rosters, monitoring forms, and proof of updates, must be submitted before the instructor card expiration date.
     
  • Late submissions may result in a lapse of instructor status and require re-completion of the initial instructor course.​
     

Ready to Become a Training Site

All Training Sites must operate under the supervision of an AHA-authorized Training Center.


As your supervising Training Center, PumpLife CPR Plus LLC will provide oversight, support, and guidance to ensure full compliance with the AHA Program Administration Manual (PAM) and the standards set by our leadership team.

  • Training Center Coordinator (TCC) at PumpLife CPR Plus oversees the Training Site’s adherence to all AHA and PumpLife-specific policies and procedures.
  •  Has a business legal name
  • maintain business insurance
  • Regular communication and responsiveness to TCC directives are expected.
     

Each Training Site must appoint a Training Site Coordinator (TSC) who is responsible for the day-to-day operations and communication with the Training Center.

  • The TSC ensures all courses are conducted according to AHA guidelines and PumpLife CPR Plus standards.
  • The TSC is the point of contact for instructor management, quality assurance, and record-keeping responsibilities.
     

Training Sites must utilize current, aligned AHA-certified instructors approved through PumpLife CPR Plus LLC.

  • All instructors must be current in the discipline(s) they teach (BLS, ACLS, PALS, Heartsaver, etc.). 
  • Instructors must strictly adhere to the latest AHA curriculum, policies, and PumpLife CPR Plus expectations for professionalism and instructional quality.
     

Every course taught under PumpLife CPR Plus LLC must:

  • Follow the AHA curriculum without deviation. 
  • Use the latest authorized instructional materials, including the correct instructor and student manuals, videos, and skill practice sessions.
  • Maintain the integrity of course content — shortcuts or modifications are prohibited.
     

Training Sites must maintain adequate and properly functioning equipment to meet AHA course requirements, including:

  • Adult, child, and infant CPR manikins (with feedback devices where required),
  • AED trainers,
  • Bag-valve masks (BVMs),
  • First aid equipment for Heartsaver programs.
     

Equipment must be maintained in clean, working condition and available for inspection upon request.


Training Sites must maintain accurate, organized records, including:

  • Instructor monitoring forms,
  • Course rosters,
  • Skills checklists,
  • Student evaluations,
  • Completed course paperwork.
     

Records must be submitted to PumpLife CPR Plus LLC in a timely manner and made available for audits or review by PumpLife or AHA representatives when requested.


PumpLife CPR Plus believes quality assurance is the heart of excellence.

  • Training Sites must participate in regular quality assurance activities coordinated by PumpLife CPR Plus. 
  • This includes random course audits, instructor monitoring, course evaluations, and corrective action plans if needed.
  • Our goal is to maintain a training environment where quality and student learning outcomes are prioritized above all.
     

Training Sites must comply with:

  • All AHA policies (including those related to ethics, conflict of interest, confidentiality, and instructor renewal), 
  • All PumpLife CPR Plus operational policies and expectations,
  • Prompt notification to PumpLife CPR Plus of any changes in personnel, ownership, site address, instructor status, or significant operational issues.
     

Failure to adhere to AHA or PumpLife CPR Plus policies may result in probationary actions or termination of Training Site status.

Interested in Becoming TC Faculty for PumpLife CPR Plus

 Becoming a member of the PumpLife CPR Plus Faculty Team means taking an active leadership role in shaping the next generation of AHA instructors.
Our Faculty represent the highest standards of professionalism, mentoring, and compliance — both with the American Heart Association (AHA) and PumpLife CPR Plus.

Faculty members must meet the following requirements:

 

All candidates must first complete a Faculty Interview with a PumpLife CPR Plus leadership team member.
This interview evaluates the candidate’s:

  • Instructional skill and course delivery knowledge,
     
  • Commitment to AHA compliance and teaching standards,
     
  • Ability to mentor, motivate, and professionally guide instructors,
     
  • Alignment with PumpLife CPR Plus' values of professionalism, excellence, and student-centered education.
     

 Interview outcome:
Candidates who meet these expectations may be invited to proceed to Faculty training.

 

Faculty candidates must:

  • Hold a current AHA Instructor certification in the discipline(s) they wish to serve as Faculty for (BLS, ACLS, PALS, or Heartsaver).
     
  • Be actively aligned and in good standing with PumpLife CPR Plus LLC.
     
  • Demonstrate a strong history of compliance, quality instruction, and professionalism.
     
  • Have taught a minimum of four (4) AHA courses as a lead instructor in the discipline within their current instructor certification cycle.

 

Faculty candidates must successfully complete:

  • The AHA Faculty Course for each discipline they wish to support.
     
  • PumpLife CPR Plus internal Faculty Orientation, which covers:
     
    • PumpLife-specific mentorship strategies,
       
    • Documentation processes for monitoring,
       
    • Expectations for Instructor onboarding, quality assurance, and professional development.
       

 Note:
Faculty are responsible for staying current with AHA updates and PumpLife policy revisions. 

After completion of the Faculty course:

  • Faculty candidates must undergo Faculty Monitoring by a PumpLife CPR Plus TC Faculty Lead or the Training Center Coordinator.
     
  • Candidates must demonstrate effective monitoring and mentorship skills during at least one full Instructor Course or Instructor Monitoring Session.
     
  • Candidates will be evaluated using the AHA Faculty Candidate Monitoring Tool.
     

 Approval:
Successful candidates will receive formal designation as PumpLife CPR Plus Faculty.
